The idea of the project is to embrace the topic proposed by the Ravenna Festival, dedicated to the centenary of the birth of an Italian writer Italo Calvino, naming the exhibition after his renowned novel Invisible Cities. It deals with places that are sometimes abandoned, other times rich with people and merchants, cities imagined in the distance amid the sands, or sea cities with magnificent gardens, walls, fortresses, exotic animals, or jellyfish. This theme of the Invisible Cities inspired mosaicists to find a connection between the pictorial works of the Jordan artists, who chose to work with the charming topics proposed by the Italian writer, creating a visionary bridge between Italy and Jordan, where mosaics, painting, and poetry combine into a single whole within the project that involves the collaboration between Italian and Jordan artists during Ravenna Festival and the concert of maestro Muti in Jerash.
