Epiphany of Light is an artistic project that aims to explore, starting from the mosaic, the topic of light in all its possible valencies with a particular focus on spirituality - both religious and anthropological. The concept of light resonates with us and constitutes precious time, inviting humankind to reflect on their search for happiness, especially in the present times marked with future uncertainties and violent conflicts. The light, as opposed to the night, is intended as an existential necessity, a tension toward a life full of justice and attainment of the common good.
The exhibition is curated by Luigi Codemo, director of the Contemporary Sacred Art Gallery in Milan, and Giovanni Gardini, director of Raccolta Lercaro. It is realized in close dialogue with CaCO3, a collective formed by Âniko Ferreira da Silva, Giuseppe Donnaloia, and Pavlos Mavromatidis, who have been reflecting on the topic of light for years, and Davide Maria Coltro, an artist, whose work involves the use of mass technologies with unique architecture that change the criteria of creation, diffusion, and fruition of art, and whose works could be interpreted in close relation to the mosaic.
