This collection of texts gives access to enlightened thinking that took shape in fifty years of activity, from the period at the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau up to the eighties in the United States, nourished by experience in the field, as well as theoretical and philosophical readings. Anni Albers returns to some themes that are particularly close to her heart: the superiority of an anonymous and timeless design, functional and not self-referential; the importance of hand-to-hand with the material; the idea that external limits benefit the imagination; the value of audacity; the belief that the act of creating is the most intense emotion one can experience.
