On the occasion of the VI Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Mosaic, the Diocesan Museum of Faenza, in collaboration with the Municipalities of Ravenna and Faenza, proposes a retrospective exhibition of the works by artist Marco De Luca, one of the greatest exponents of contemporary
Ravenna mosaic tradition. In his works, De Luca proposes very delicate textures, additions – and at the same time subtractions – of tesserae, in which the art of mosaic manifests itself as a profound experience of light. By renouncing figuration and forcing the viewer into an exercise of mental, all inner scrutiny, he gives us the vision. The sound of rain solidifies, poetry becomes solemn architecture. The catalogue contains critical texts by Giovanni Gardini and Luca Maggio.
