From the blue prints of Ravenna’s monuments came the inspiration for the creation of scenographic jewels embellished by threaded micro-mosaic. The project MICRO&MACRO of the professor Emanuela Bergonzoni, Teacher of jewel design, comprehend three necklace, thought as big scenographic jewels, the works were realized in collective by the students of the biennium in Mosaic of the “Accademia di Belle Arti” in Ravenna, who have participated at the module of Professor Bergonzoni jewel design and the Work-shop of micro-mosaic of professor Vacchini. The necklaces are realized in transparent plexiglass support, the design is suggested by the blueprints of three historical monument of Ravenna: “Basilica di san Vitale”, “Mausoleo di Teodorico” And “Mausoleo di Galla Placidia”, to whom were applied metal settings, realized by the students during the modules of jewel design, and decorated with threaded Micro-mosaic. The colture of micro-mosaic perfectly integrates with the one of the jewel, both ancient and wise interpretative techniques which require smart hands to express the power of the subject.
