The artist Mario Deluigi is the author of Scintilla e Combustione, two mosaics made with black and yellow industrial tiles, come from the wall of “Teodora” Enel Thermoelectric Central in Porto Corsini. The original building was build in 1959 by Veneziana S.A.D.E. with a Ignazio Gardella project. Today Scintilla e Combustione is preserved in a protective structure, near the Thermoelectric Central square. Deluigi was a very important artist for the italian postwar period.; in young age he was influenced by Cubism, in the 50s he became a Spatialism main personality, and in the last period of his career he made his works using the Grattage technique. Deluigi was Scenography teacher in Accademia di Belle Arti and Istituto Universitario di Architettura (Iuav) in Venice. He had a longtime friendship with the sculptor Alberto Viano and with the architect Carlo Scarpa. The two mosaics also appear in Il deserto rosso (1964), a movie by Michelangelo Antonioni, winner of Leone d'Oro at Festival del Cinema di Venezia and filmed in Ravenna.
